Eve - Neon Vibes® Flex Technician - International Women's Day
A bit about me
I would say that I am both a creative and technically minded person. I enjoy learning new creative processes and always work hard to refine and improve my use of those that I already know.
In my spare time I play football for Holbeck Moor FC and I also love to restore bikes. Other than that, my time is spent with friends and family, as well as keeping an eye on my two cats - Stilson and Desmond.
A photographer by profession
I’m a photographer by profession, and studied the subject as a BA degree at Manchester School of Art. Here I particularly focussed on analog photography, spending my time in the darkroom and wandering woodlands with a 5 x 4 camera and a jumper over my head.

Landscapes are my main interest, their ability to manifest a sense of ‘being’ is something I've explored in depth and the notion of how a place becomes tarred with historical significance yet is so unassuming to the eye.
I’ve exhibited my work internationally in the UK, Catalonia, France and China.

What I do at Neon Vibes®
Officially I am a Neon Flex Technician, but in reality - as is often the case in a small business - I have a really varied role at Neon Vibes®. From making our neon signs to packing the boxes ready for shipment; more recently I’ve been collaboratively creating visual content which I’m hoping to progress further.
My inspirational woman
My Grandma, Mad Maureen. She keeps us all on our toes with her witty one-liners and straight to the point advice.
If I’m having a difficult time, she tells me ‘illegitimi non carborundum’ (translated from mock-Latin ‘Don’t let the b******* grind you down’).
She was born about 10 years after women won the right to vote and I think about all the things that have changed during that time and she’s seen it all, and here she is in 2023 with WIFI, a brick phone and a sassy comment for anyone in earshot.
